Ingredients

  • 4 apples (sliced)
  • 25 g brown sugar
  • 15 g butter (melted)
  • 1 tbsp crushed walnuts
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder

Instructions

  • Start by washing and slicing your apples. You can peel them if you prefer, but I like to leave the skins on for the texture and nutrients.
  • Slice the apples into even, thin pieces for even cooking.
  • In a small bowl, mix the ground cinnamon, melted butter, and brown sugar. Toss the sliced apples in the mixture until they're well coated.
  • Arrange the apple slices in a single layer in the basket. You may need to cook them in batches if your air fryer is small.
  • Set your air fryer to 180°C - 360°F  and cook the apple slices for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket about halfway through. The apples are done when they are tender and slightly crispy on the edges.

Notes

  • Don't cut your apples until you are ready to cook them as they will turn brown really quickly.
  • Try to cut the slices as evenly as possible and shake the basket halfway through cooking for an even airflow.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket, do it in batches if your air fryer basket is too small.
  • While cinnamon is a classic choice, don't be afraid to experiment with other spices. Nutmeg, allspice, or a pinch of cloves can add interesting flavors to your apples. If you prefer not to use brown sugar, try sweetening your apples with a touch of maple syrup or a sprinkle of coconut sugar to add flavor.
