- 250 g brie or camembert cheese
- 320 g puff pastry (one sheet)
- 30 g cranberry sauce
- 30 g walnuts
- 1 egg yolk (to eggwash)
If your puff pastry is frozen, let it sit at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes until pliable but still cold.
Unfold the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and place the Brie in the center.
Make 4 slits on top of the cheese, spread a layer of cranberry sauce on top, and scatter the walnuts over the sauce.
Fold the puff pastry over the cheese, ensuring it’s fully sealed to prevent leaks during cooking.
Egg wash the puff pastry using a pastry brush to coat it evenly.
Set your air fryer to 390℉ (200℃) and line the basket with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
Place the wrapped Brie in the air fryer basket and cook for 10- 12 minutes, checking periodically to ensure the pastry doesn’t overbrown.
Let the baked Brie sit for 2-3 minutes before serving to allow the cheese to settle slightly.
- Use fresh, good-quality, creamy Brie or Camembert cheese that has a smooth, white rind, and without any off-putting odors.
- The Brie's rind is edible and adds a nice texture contrast. Leaving it on also helps hold the cheese together as it bakes.
- If the pastry warms up too much while assembling, pop it in the fridge for 10 minutes before cooking.
-
Don't skip the eggwash if you want a shiny, appetizing crust.
-
Ensure the puff pastry is fully cooked before removing it from the air fryer.
