Use a knife to split the muffins in half. Splitting them before cooking helps the inside toast evenly.
Set the air fryer to 200°C (400°F). A short preheat helps the muffins toast quickly.
Place the muffin halves in the air fryer basket with the cut side facing up. Leave a little space between each piece, and avoid stacking them.
Cook the English muffins for 4–5 minutes at 200°C (400°F). They should look lightly golden and feel crisp on the edges.
Remove the muffins from the basket and spread butter, jam, or other toppings while they are still warm.
Use the cut side facing up so the inside becomes lightly crisp.
Do not overcrowd the basket. Air needs space to circulate.
Check at the 4-minute mark. Some air fryers cook a little faster.
Add butter after cooking. It melts nicely into the warm bread.</li>
