Whether you serve them for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, these Air Fryer Sausage links offer a quick, straightforward, and fuss-free method for preparing your favorite sausages.
Ready in just 17 minutes, they come out wonderfully crispy and golden on the outside while remaining juicy and flavorful on the inside.
Once you try cooking your sausages in an air fryer, you will never want to go back to the old methods.
You can use your air fryer for all types of sausages.
I used uncooked fresh Cumberland sausage links for this recipe, but you can also use chicken, beef, or lamb sausages, Italian sausages, as well as vegetarian sausages.
However, the cooking times might vary depending on the size and thickness of the sausages you are using.
Also, if you want to cook frozen sausages in an air fryer, there’s no need to thaw them.
Just make sure to add an extra five minutes to the cooking time and start with a lower temperature for the first few minutes.

Ingredients You’ll Need
Apart from an air fryer, which you possibly already have, all you need are your favorite sausages such as Cumberland, Lincolnshire, spicy Italian sausages, large German bratwurst, or Polish sausages.
You also need a few drops of oil if you use vegetarian sausages or lean sausages to prevent them from sticking to the pan.
I use the Cosori 6.8 air fryer for all my favorite air fryer recipes, including Soft or Hard Boiled Air Fryer Eggs and Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls from Scratch.
I can fit 6 or 7 sausages in one basket, for a total of 12 to 14 sausages in one go.
If you have a smaller air fryer or you want to feed a crowd, you might want to cook them in batches to avoid overcrowding the basket(s).
You will also need to use a cooking thermometer to ensure the doneness of the sausages.
How to Make Sausage in an Air Fryer?
Important Note
Before you start cooking, note that times may differ among air fryers. I develop my recipes using a Cosori 6.8 air fryer. If you’re using a different air fryer, view my recipes as a general guide and tweak the cooking time—add a bit more or cook slightly less as needed.
Cooking sausage in an air fryer is effortless, quick, and straightforward.
However, it’s important to follow these simple steps to achieve the best results:
Pierce the sausages a few times using a small knife or a toothpick to help them release more fat.
If using vegetarian sausages or lean sausages, spray with some oil on them to avoid the sausages sticking to the pan. You can also use a brush if you don’t have spray oil in hand.
Place the sausages in your air fryer’s basket in a single layer, without overlapping them.
Set the air fryer to 190° C (375° F) and then cook the sausages until they’re nicely browned and crispy on the outside and the core temperature reaches 74 °C (165 ° F).
It takes about 15 to 17 minutes, depending on the thickness of the sausages and how many you have in the basket.
