Ingredients You’ll Need

- Salmon – Buy the freshest salmon fillets, and if possible, wild-caught ones from a fishmonger. They are slightly pricier than the farmed ones but they taste so much better and are nutrient-rich. You can ask your fishmonger to remove the skin for you if you don’t know how to skin salmon fillets yourself. They might contain some small bones, so make sure to pick them before cooking them in air fryer.
- Teriyaki sauce – I personally prefer store-bought teriyaki sauce as it makes things easier and quicker. However, you can prepare your homemade teriyaki sauce by mixing equal amounts of mirin, soy sauce, sake, and water!
- Sesame seeds – They add a mild, sweet, and nutty taste, and provide crunch for salmon bites.
- Garnish – Finely sliced green onions and red chilies add color and texture to this delicious salmon dish.
How to Make Air Fryer Teriyaki Salmon Bites?
Important Note
Before you start cooking, note that times may differ among air fryers. I develop my recipes using a Cosori 6.8 air fryer. If you’re using a different air fryer, view my recipes as a general guide and tweak the cooking time—add a bit more or cook slightly less as needed.
Although making these sweet and sticky Air Fryer Teriyaki Salmon is very easy, you need to follow a few simple steps to achieve the best results :
Prepare your salmon fillets. Remove the skin, and any remaining bones, and cut them in bite-sized pieces.

In a bowl, combine the teriyaki sauce and sesame seeds, and add the salmon pieces to the bowl, making sure they are well-coated with the marinade.

Cover and let it sit in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Skip this step if you are short of time.
Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C), and place the marinated salmon pieces in the air fryer basket. I remove the grid, brush the basket with a little oil, and place the salmon pieces directly into the basket.
Quick Tip!
To avoid your salmon sticking to the air fryer basket, brush the basket with a little olive oil or use a liner before adding the salmon.

Cook for 7-8 minutes, until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Once the salmon bites are cooked, remove them from the air fryer and place them on a serving plate. Sprinkle with more sesame seeds, sliced red chilies, and chopped green onions if desired.

Let the leftover salmon pieces cool down completely and place them in an airtight container in the fridge. They will stay good for 2-3 days. If you want to keep them longer, freeze them in a freezer-safe container or bag for up to 3 months.
When you’re ready to eat, preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C), pop in the salmon pieces, and heat them for 2-3 minutes until it’s warmed through.
