  • Chicken Breast – I used medium-sized boneless, skinless chicken breast (approximately 200 grams – 7 oz) and dry brined with salt for juicy and well seasoned breast meat. If you want to frozen chicken breasts, you’ll need to add extra cooking time—typically 5-10 minutes more.
  • Seasoning – I keep it simple and use salt, pepper, paprika, thyme, and garlic powder. You can spice it up a little with cayenne or chili powder, or use taco seasoning, cajun seasoning, or jerk seasoning instead.
  • Olive oil – To stop the chicken breast sticking to air fryer basket and adding a bit flavour.

How to Make Juicy Air Fryer Chicken Breasts?

Important Note

Before you start cooking, note that times may differ among air fryers. I develop my recipes using a Cosori 6.8 air fryer. If you’re using a different air fryer, view my recipes as a general guide and tweak the cooking time—add a bit more or cook slightly less as needed.

Sprinkle the breasts with salt and let them brine at room temperature for 30 minutes. This step is optional but I highly recommend it for a well flavoured and juicy chicken breasts.

Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) to ensure that your chicken starts cooking immediately and helps it develop a nice, crispy exterior. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, paprika, dried thyme, olive oil, and pepper.

If you are in a hurry and want your chicken breasts cook quicker, gently pound the thicker part of the chicken breasts to an even thickness using a meat mallet.
