I like to make a big batch of Juicy Air Fryer Burgers and stash them in the freezer for those times when I need a quick, tasty meal on the table. But if you have other frozen burgers on hand, no worries—just follow the cooking instructions, and you’ll be good to go!

How to Make Frozen Hamburgers in Air Fryer?

Important Note

Before you start cooking, note that times may differ among air fryers. I develop my recipes using a Cosori 6.8 air fryer. If you’re using a different air fryer, view my recipes as a general guide and tweak the cooking time—add a bit more or cook slightly less as needed.

Set your air fryer to 392°F (200°C). Place the frozen burger patties in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Make sure there’s enough space between them for the hot air to circulate. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook them in batches.

4 pieces of frozen burger patties

Cook the burgers for 10-12 minutes (medium-sized), flipping them halfway through, to get both sides nicely browned. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. Larger burger patties might need an extra 5-7 minutes to get cooked. Make sure the burgers reach at least 160°F (71°C) to be considered safe to eat.

If you like your burgers with cheese, add a slice to each patty during the last minute of cooking. This allows the cheese to melt perfectly over the hot patty.

Once everything is cooked, you can assemble your burgers with your favorite toppings and condiments.

Expert Tips From the Chef

  • Avoid overcrowding your air fryer. Make sure there’s enough space between them for the hot air to circulate. If your air fryer is small, cook the burgers in batches.
  • Air fryers can vary, so check the burgers with a meat thermometer a few minutes early to avoid overcooking them.
  • Depending on the thickness and size of the frozen burgers, adjust the cooking time accordingly. Use the suggested times as a guide.
  • After cooking your frozen burgers, let the air fryer cool down, and wash the basket and tray with a sponge or in a dishwasher. Most air fryer baskets are dishwasher safe, making cleanup even easier.
  • You can store the leftovers refrigerated for up to 2 days. Do not freeze them again as they already were frozen.
