Ingredients You’ll Need
- Ground beef – I like to use ground beef with at least 15% fat content for perfectly juicy patties.
- Onions – It adds extra flavor and moisture to the patties. I prefer grating it into the mixture. You can also use shallots as a substitute.
- Garlic – I enjoy adding fresh garlic to my burger patties! You can turn it into a paste using a mortar and pestle or grate it with a Microplane. If you prefer, you can substitute fresh garlic with garlic powder.
- Rosemary – I enjoy the aroma of fresh rosemary in my burgers, but a little goes a long way to avoid overpowering the patties. If you prefer, you can substitute it with parsley or thyme
- Seasoning – I stick to freshly ground pepper and salt to keep things simple.
How to Make Juicy Hamburgers in Air Fryer?
Important Note
Air fryers can vary so make sure to check the doneness of your burgers a couple of minutes in advance to avoid overcooked burger patties. I used a Ninja foodie 8-quart dual-zone air fryer for this air fryer burger recipe. If you’re using a different air fryer, view this recipe as a general guide and tweak the cooking time—add a bit more or cook slightly less as needed.
Making this juicy burgers in air fryer is a straightforward process. To achieve the best results, you need to follow a few simple steps:
To prepare the patties, combine the ground beef, grated onion, garlic, salt, finely chopped rosemary, and freshly ground black pepper in a medium-sized mixing bowl.
Gently mix them together until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (390°F).
Divide the mixture into 4 portions, each weighing approximately 215 grams, or 5 portions weighing 170 grams.
Shape them into patties about 1 ½ cm (½”) thick.
Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty and then place them in the preheated air fryer in a single layer.
If your air fryer basket is not large enough, cook the patties in batches.
Cook the patties for 5 minutes, flip them over and then cook for an additional 4-6 minutes until they are cooked through.
If you want to add cheese to your burgers, turn off the air fryer, place a slice of cheese on each patty, close the air fryer, and then let the cheese melt for an additional minute.
Once cooked, remove the patties from the air fryer, place them on buns, and then add your favorite toppings and sauces before serving.

Recipe FAQs
While it’s bestl to enjoy this dish freshly made on the day it’s prepared, any leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, maintaining their freshness.
Certainly! If you’ve created your burger patties using fresh ground beef, they freeze beautifully! However, if you’ve used frozen burgers, it’s best not to freeze the leftovers. Instead, consume them within 48 hours for optimal taste and quality.
I strongly suggest flipping your burgers in the air fryer, just as you would on a grill or BBQ, to ensure they cook perfectly on both sides.
