My air fryer is a game-changer as it cooks food quickly, evenly, and with less oil than traditional methods. This means we can enjoy our favorite fried foods, like hash brown patties, with a healthier twist.

How to Make Air Fryer Frozen Hash Brown Patties?

Important Note

Before you start cooking, note that times may differ among air fryers. I develop my recipes using a Cosori 6.8 air fryer. If you’re using a different air fryer, view my recipes as a general guide and tweak the cooking time—add a bit more or cook slightly less as needed.

All you need is your air fryer and a bag of your favorite frozen hash brown patties. My hash browns were about 50 grams each and I could easily fit 6 in a single layer. You might want to use a bit of oil if your air fryer basket is not non-stick, but I usually don’t need it.

Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and place the hash brown patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Don’t overcrowd the basket; you want the hot air to circulate freely around each patty for even cooking.

If desired, sprinkle some seasoning on the hash browns before serving. Some of my favorite seasonings are sea salt, pepper, garlic powder, or a bit of smoked paprika for extra flavor. Serve immediately while they’re hot and crispy.

How to Serve Air Fryer Frozen Hash Brown Patties?

Hash brown patties are incredibly versatile. You can serve them with scrambled eggs, Air Fryer Mushroom and Cheese Omelette, crispy bacon, sautéed mushrooms, and a side of Air Fryer Toast or Homemade Air Fryer Biscuits for a traditional breakfast feast.

You can pair your hash browns with smoked salmon, cream cheese, and capers for a fancy brunch option or create a breakfast bowl by layering hash browns, sautéed spinach, cherry tomatoes, and a poached egg. Drizzle with hot sauce or hollandaise for extra flavor.

Just like Air Fryer Hash Browns from Scratch, they are also great as a side dish you can pair with Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Wings, Juicy Air Fryer Chicken Breast Recipe, or Whole Chicken in Air Fryer with Crispy Skin.

Storing and Reheating Leftovers

Store any leftover hash browns in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 5 days. Do not freeze them since they were already frozen before!

To reheat, simply pop the hash browns back in the air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 5-7 minutes, or until heated through and crispy. You can also reheat them in the oven but the air fryer is quickest and gives the best results.

Troubleshooting: Common Issues and Solutions

Hash Browns Are Soggy

If your hash browns turn out soggy, it’s likely because they were overcrowded in the air fryer basket. Make sure to cook them in a single layer and leave space between each patty for the hot air to circulate properly.

Hash Browns Stick to the Basket

If your hash browns stick to the basket, try using a non-stick cooking spray before adding the patties. You can also line the basket with parchment paper for easier cleanup.

Uneven Cooking

Uneven cooking can occur if the hash browns are different sizes or if the air fryer basket is overcrowded. Try to select hash browns of similar size and cook them in batches if necessary to ensure even cooking.
